Al Gore is a busy man.
First he created the worldwide web and now the Nobel Peace Prize? The Nobel Committee awarded Gore and the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change,
for their efforts to build up and disseminate greater knowledge about man-made climate change, and to lay the foundations for the measures that are needed to counteract such change
You know, I don’t care about his spelling prowess at all, not even a little bit. As for the Internet thing, we all know his remarks were taken out of context, right? Vint Cerf and Bob Kahn don’t even believe Al Gore was trying to take too much credit, and what’s good enough for the Internet founding fathers is good enough for me.
Gore has his faults, of course, but his record stands as a politician so concerned with global warming that he was the very first one to hold congressional hearings about it way back in the 70’s before most Americans had even heard the term. Green living and environmental awareness are pretty trendy ideas now, but subjects like air quality are not abstract for families like mine, with an asthmatic child. Al Gore’s efforts on climate change can mean only good things for my daughter.
Well done, Mr. Gore.
