Today’s new links are all about allergies. My Asthma Girl doesn’t have any allergic triggers except for dust mites, but the two often go hand in hand. Here’s more information about the links I’m adding to the sidebar.
Allergy Moms
This site focuses on food allergies, and it contains both a blog and a free newsletter. Another cool feature is this News page, which links to current headlines about food allergies. If we were dealing with food allergies in this house, you’d better believe I’d be visiting this site all the time.
All Allergy
Looking for a clearinghouse for all things allergy and intolerance related? Check here first for a directory of allergy organizations and support groups, medical journals, sites for children, glossaries, databases, and a slew of other resources. You can search by keywords or through subject links for all the information you’d ever want about.
In asthma news, check out this new research:
Menopause Linked to Decreased Lung Function and Asthma Risk
Norwegian researchers find perimenopausal women may have a higher risk of developing asthma and/or reduced lung function, and weight may be a factor. How? Well, the results apparently indicate a higher risk for menopausal women who are too thin or too heavy. Reported in this month’s Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology.
Check back this weekend for more holiday recipes for possible asthma-friendly foods.

We’re blushing!
