Saving Money on Asthma Meds

Wow.

The Democratic nomination just isn’t going to come easily, is it? But what a battle – get two worthy, passionate candidates, throw them into a neck-and-neck contest for the nomination, and see what happens. American politics is exciting again!

Yesterday’s post about the candidates’ health care platforms reminded me it’s time for another coupon post. Until we see any real reform in the pharmaceutical industry or the patent on the HFA inhalers expires so we can get generics again, try using prescription coupons to adjust for the hiked-up prices.

Let’s turn to my favorite Internet value source–InternetDrugCoupons.com lists the following current asthma prescription deals:

1. Advair: $10 Off or Free 30-Day Trial

2. Asmanex Twisthaler: $10 Cash Back Every 90 Days
Asmanex is a once-a-day inhaled corticosteroid for patients over age 12, but the FDA just approved it for kids over age four. It will be available for the younger ages sometime this year.

3. ProAir HFA: Free Inhaler and $15 Rebate
