(My front door, plus Halloween decorations. Oddly appropriate in this market, don’t you think?)
As if economy headlines and the probability of selling my house and getting to Denver anytime soon couldn’t get worse, Wachovia’s the latest victim of the financial crisis, no one likes the bailout bill, and although I admit I don’t actually know what the Dow Jones industrial average is, it has fallen over 290 points and that can’t be helpful.
Good times.
Oh, and check this out. My twin brother lives where I used to, in the Tampa Bay area. Last week, guess who walked in the restaurant where he was eating and started greeting and shaking hands with everyone, including him?
Just Barack Obama, that’s who. It’s an experience totally wasted on my brother, who doesn’t really follow politics and remained largely nonchalant about the whole thing.
My other brother is two years younger than me and in the Air Force. He’s in Germany for four months and spent the weekend at Oktoberfest. In Germany.
As for me. I spent yesterday decorating the house for Halloween with the girls because waiting to move just means excitement and high times 24/7 here in the House of Pain. (However, we did do a pretty sweet decorating job.** Have I ever mentioned how much I love Halloween? ‘Cause I really, really do.)
Anyway, wah. No one likes a whiner, not even me, so let’s move on to something more positive:
Your feedback! Which is incredibly helpful so far, and thanks again to all of you who’ve taken the time to leave a comment or send an email. Now let’s dig a little deeper with some questions:
Do YOU have any questions?
–Specific questions about asthma or parenting a kid with asthma or any other subject?
–Anything I’ve never answered here at Asthma Mom or not answered as thoroughly as you’d like?
–Want to learn more about a specific time in AG’s life or a specific symptom of hers?
–Want to ask her a question instead of me?
Pretty much anything’s fair game here, but remember–you won’t see any answers right away, since I’m gathering all your feedback for a new feature in the near future. Leave your questions here on this post, on the original one through the *feedback* link above, or send me an email through the Contact tab at the top of the page.
**In the meantime, check out further ghoulishness:
How do you satisfy your inner love of all things dark and spooky at the same time you’re trying to keep your house presentable in a terrible real estate market?

Never let it be said that this Asthma Mom isn’t festive, at the very least.

Wow! I love your decorations! That’s fantastic!
Can’t believe your brother got to shake hands with Barack Obama. That’s just amazing!
Wow! Love your House! If I was moving there, I’d buy it!
So far my AG is doing well this Fall…….I am thankful for that……..using all the good advice you’ve given over this past yr. on the site….thanks again for all you do to support all of those dealing with asthma.
too spooky for me – I need my decorations on the outside & sweetness & light inside
A feature where AG gives her perspective would be totally amazingly cool! I’m not sure if she’s interested in that or not … but for so many things I can research the mom’s POV more so than the kid’s POV, and it would be really interesting to hear what that is.
Here’s a question for you – So far, I haven’t been carrying DS’s asthma meds with us everywhere, as we do for the epi-pen. (remember we’ve had 2 episodes of needing flovent for about a month … his flares present more as night time coughing). The school has the spacer & albuterol, and I carry everything with us when we travel. HOwever I think I should put the inhaler in my purse perhaps to have when we are out together. But what should I do for DS when he’s out w/o me, with his dad or at a friends’? ARe there neat carriers for these meds for the kids, like there are for the epi-pens? Our history leads me to see the allergic reaction risk as much greater which is why I have tackled that first. So – advice for how & what to carry w/ you at all times? Hmmm.
Thanks, everyone–I’m good at just a couple of things, but Halloween is one of them. (wink)
Good to see you again, Blessedmom–I’d totally sell you my house and so glad to hear she’s doing well.
Andie–those are great suggestions. Thanks so much for those AND your input on the other post. Her POV is definitely going to come into play more–that I CAN tell you.
