The Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America released this year’s Spring Allergy Capitals, with the top 3 slots all in the usual mid-South. My area just makes the list of 100, clocking in at 92. You can see all 100 cities on this pdf, but check out the top 5 allergy capitals:
1. Louisville, KY
2. Knoxville, TN
3. Charlotte, NC
4. Madison, WI
5. Wichita, KS

Wow! It blows my mind that my area of Florida didn’t even make the top 100. I can’t imagine how bad off I’d be if I lived in one of the top 5 areas (guess I’ll have to stop complaining about the pollen count here now!)
How is little AGs asthma doing? She doesn’t have allergies, right?
Cool. The closest two cities to my small town are both beyond 50. Oak pollen is very bad right now, but Jack seems to be trucking along just fine. C-line and I have minor symptoms, but we don’t have asthma! The Gods smile upon us sometimes. :”)
Gee, I’m surprised. I thought New York, Chicago, L.A., but they are probably #1 for smog, so I naturally think they are full of pollen too. I’ll bet you’re glad you’re in Colorado.
AG doesn’t have allergies (except for dust mites), so we’re looking good—except when you factor in the most recent State of the Air report from the ALA. My county gets an “F” for smog, probably b/c we’re in a valley by the foothills. Also, the standards are stricter than they were for last year’s report.
As far as allergies here go, I think I may be affected by the new exposure to prairie grasses than anyone else in this family–and I’ve never had allergies.
